Blue Badgers Community Guidelines

Blue Badgers is dedicated to empowering people with disabilities and their support networks by providing fantastic opportunities to connect, socialise, and enjoy discounts on leisure and local outings.

These Community Guidelines apply to all members, content and activities on our platform and are designed to ensure every event is inclusive, safe, respectful, and enjoyable for everyone.

We appreciate your commitment to fostering a positive community.

Fostering a Safe and Respectful Environment

To maintain a positive and secure space for all members and carers, the following types of content and activities are strictly prohibited on the Blue Badgers platform:

  1. Illegal and Harmful Content

    • Abuse and Bullying: Content or actions that involve harassment, threats of violence, stalking, coercive behaviour, abusive material, or anything that puts a person at risk. This includes content promoting self-harm or suicide.
    • Hate Speech: Disparagement, discrimination, or attacks against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics (such as race, sex, ethnicity, religion, national origin, immigration status, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or veteran status). This includes slurs, harmful stereotypes, dehumanisation and promoting supremacy or exclusion.
    • Dangerous Organisations: Promoting, glorifying, or using symbols associated with criminal organisations or terrorist groups.
    • Illegal Activities:Promoting or engaging in (a) the illegal sale, use, or distribution of controlled substances or prescription drugs; (b) animal abuse, including illegal hunting, torture, or trafficking of endangered animals; and/ or (c) fraudulent activities, financial schemes, or unauthorised gambling.
  2. Event and Platform Integrity

    To keep the Blue Badgers platform focused and trustworthy, we prohibit the following uses:
    • Inappropriate Event Content: Hosting or promoting events that are primarily for political campaigning or for financial gain (apart from fundraising activities by a registered charity).
    • Misinformation & Reputation: Sharing content that is known misinformation or that could significantly harm the reputation of Blue Badgers or cause offense to our community members or partners.
    • Intellectual Property Infringement: Posting content (including images, logos, videos, or text) that you do not have the right to use or that infringes on a third party’s rights.
    • Disruption: Sharing login credentials, unauthorised access, distributing malware, or any other action that disrupts Blue Badgers operations.
    • Unwanted Commercial Use: haring commercial content, URLs, inauthentic listings, or other unwanted communications that are unrelated to a hosted Blue Badgers event or its attendees.
    • Privacy Violations: Collecting unnecessary sensitive personal information from members, such as credit card numbers, financial data, or national identification numbers.

Reporting and Appeals

Reporting Violations

Our goal is to promote and maintain a safe and respectful community. If you encounter any content or activity that you believe violates these Community Guidelines or our Terms of Service, please contact us immediately.

Consequences for Violations

Violations of these guidelines may result in the immediate suspension and/ or termination of the offending account. In cases of illegal activity, we will report the content and/ or user to the relevant authorities.

Appealing a Decision

  1. Direct Appeal: Please reply directly to the suspension or termination email you received within six months of the decision date.
  2. Statutory Appeal (EU/UK Residents): If you are a resident of the EU or the UK, you have additional appeal rights under the EU Digital Services Act (DSA) and the UK Online Safety Act. You can appeal our decision (whether it relates to your content or content you reported) by using the linked form provided in our original decision notification.

You will receive an email acknowledging your appeal request. We aim to provide a decision within approximately 7 business days.
